GULI hospital and Research center. This is the only Cardiology Hospital for the entire Eastern European region. The main hospital has basement, ground and first floors. They alshave branch hospitals. They offer only Cardiology treatments including angiogram and other invasive cadiological techniques, except opening sternum for cardithoracic surgery. All the famous Cardiologists of Eastern Europe are working here and involved themselves in Research, including my friends Dr. Ia Avaliani [Dean of Georgia Medical University] and Dr. Khatuna [Deputy Director of GULI hospital].
GeoJeff Center. This is the only Radiological research center of Georgia, established in the collaboration of GMU and Jefferson University USA. The equipments used for treatment and research purposes are impressive. The Director of this center was proud tmention me a point that this center is using “Microsoft Power Point” presentations in the computer for radiology classes, since 1995, during which even in the USA the power point presentations was not famous.
DENTEX: This was the most impressive hospital we have seen in Georgia. Dr. George Menabde, whis the most famous and respected MaxillFacial Surgeon of Europe, has founded it. Currently he is alsthe rector of GMU and GSMA. There are twhospitals, one for clinicals like orthodontics, and the other for Surgeries like maxillfacial surgery. They have all type of sophisticated equipments including ceramic furnace. The standard is comparative tUS, UK. We have not expected such a kind of high quality hospital in Georgia. Tbe honest, this hospital has more research facility than other of our tie-up universities in Poland, Czech, Slovakia and Romania.
After seeing these three centers we have made arrangements thave Practical classes for Post Graduate students in these centers.
